Harriet Washington

Harriet A. Washington is a science writer and ethicist. Her book “Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present,” which she wrote as a research fellow in ethics at Harvard Medical School, won the National Book Critics Circle Nonfiction Award.
